Privacy Policy

1. Overview

BulaHub ("we", "us", or "the app") is a community events app that helps people on Florida's Space Coast discover kava bar events, follow their favorite hosts, and RSVP to gatherings. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

By creating an account or using BulaHub, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, you should not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email address associated with that account, plus the profile picture your provider shares. We store your provider-assigned user ID, email, display name, and avatar URL in our database so we can identify you across sessions and devices.

Age confirmation. Because kava is an age-restricted substance in Florida, BulaHub is for adults 18 and older only. The first time you sign in, we ask you to confirm you are 18 or older. We store a timestamp of your confirmation on your profile. We do not collect or verify your date of birth or government ID.

Profile role. When you finish onboarding, we store whether you selected "I'm looking for events" (member) or "I host events" (host). You can switch between these at any time.

Host Page content. If you claim or create a Host Page, we store the name, bio, tagline, website, Instagram handle, location, address, and any profile picture and banner image you upload. Hosts can also mark their venue as 21+ only, which is shown on their Host Page. This content is visible to other users.

Event content. Hosts can create events with a title, description, category, date, time, location, and cover image. Hosts can mark individual events as 21+ only, which is shown as a 21+ badge on the event card and detail screen. This content is public within the app.

RSVP and follow activity. When you mark an event as saved, interested, or going, or when you follow a Host Page, we record that relationship so we can show you your plans and notify you of changes.

Event reports. If you report an event, we store the reason, optional note, and timestamp so our admin team can review it.

Bug reports. If you submit a bug report through Settings, the title, description, and any attached screenshot are sent via your device's mail app to our support email.

Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we register a push token with Expo's notification service so we can send you alerts about events you've RSVP'd to.

Device and usage data. We collect basic analytics about how the app is used (such as which screens are viewed and buttons tapped) to improve the product. This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity in our records.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account and sign you in across devices.

To display Host Pages and events you create, and to attribute that content to your account.

To remember the events you've saved, RSVP'd to, or followed, and to show you relevant listings.

To send you push notifications about events you've RSVP'd to — for example, when a host reschedules or cancels.

To review reports submitted by the community and take action on inappropriate or inaccurate content.

To diagnose bugs and improve the app based on reports and usage patterns.

To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the community from abuse.

4. What We Share

We do not sell your personal information.

Public content. Your display name, Host Page content, events you create, and RSVP activity may be visible to other users inside the app.

Service providers. We use Supabase for database and image storage, Expo for push notification delivery, and Google and Apple for sign-in. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy obligations.

Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or ourselves.

5. Image Storage

Profile pictures and banners you upload for a Host Page, and cover images you upload for an event, are stored in our cloud storage and served via public URLs so they appear consistently across devices. If you update or remove an image, the previous version is replaced.

If you are an admin editing another host's page or an event you don't own, the same storage rules apply — the image is uploaded to the cloud and the public URL is saved to that host's or event's record.

6. Notifications

We request permission to send you push notifications about events you've RSVP'd to. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's system settings. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the app.

7. Your Choices

You can sign out at any time from Settings. Signing out removes the session from your device; your account and content remain.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, RSVPs, follows, push notification tokens, notifications, event reports, events you created, and any Host Pages you own (including events on those Host Pages). This action cannot be undone. You can also request deletion by contacting us at the email below.

You can revoke Google or Apple's permission to share your information at any time through your provider's account settings.

8. Age Restrictions

BulaHub is intended for adults 18 and older only. Kava is an age-restricted substance in Florida, so we require every user to confirm they are 18 or older before using the app. If you are under 18, do not use BulaHub.

Some venues and events may be restricted to ages 21 and older. Hosts can mark their Host Page or individual events as 21+, and a 21+ badge is shown on those listings. Bring valid ID to 21+ venues — the badge is informational only and does not guarantee entry. The venue makes the final decision.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

9. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Event and RSVP data is retained to preserve event history and community context. Report data is retained until the report is resolved and for a reasonable period thereafter.

10. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted authentication tokens stored in your device's secure storage and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as BulaHub evolves. When we do, we'll revise the effective date at the top. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
